Indigo grew up in a small town in Humboldt County, CA. She discovered her love for children and special education at a young age through volunteering in classrooms, coaching in the local Special Olympics, and nannying for children in the community. Indigo obtained her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Studies at Sonoma State University, where she worked as a preschool teacher and an ABA therapist for students with Autism. Indigo’s experience in early childhood education has had a strong impact on her teaching methods. She recognizes the value of creating secure relationships with her students, creating student-centered learning experiences, and acting as a culturally responsive teacher.
After graduating from Sonoma State, Indigo immediately moved to Portland and received her teaching credential in Special Education from Portland State University, where she is now working towards her master’s degree in Special Education.
In her free time outside of working and studying, Indigo enjoys drawing, painting, snowboarding, going to the beach, cuddling with her cat, and drinking chai. She is excited to be at Victory and looks forward to creating a fun, inclusive, and engaging educational environment!
