Samantha joined the Victory Team in March 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Pomona College and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.
Sam’s passion for occupational therapy began with an internship through the University of Washington Autism Center in Seattle, where she has spent her summers working at a behavior-based program for children with Autism, ADHD, and ODD. Since then, she has continued to work with children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and has found her interest peaked by working with children with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. As a part of her occupational therapy degree, Sam adapted and facilitated a mental health promotion program for children with disabilities at a local K-8 school. She also worked for a nonprofit agency that brought children and adults with disabilities into the community to practice skills such as money management, social skills, navigation, and self-advocacy. Sam loves to support children in performing meaningful activities and facilitate school participation through creative problem-solving and a holistic, child-centered approach.
Sam was born and raised in Seattle, and has also lived in Southern California, St. Louis, and Milwaukee. She now lives in Downtown Portland with her husband and cat. In her free time, Sam likes to paint, hike, climb, and do yoga.
