Kyna Brockett

Licensed Professional Counselor

Kyna Brockett

Kyna Brockett started her work tenure at Victory in March 2012. She holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from University of North Carolina Wilmington and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University. Kyna became involved in the field of education and autism when she accepted an internship at Building Bridges (an ABA-based Portland Clinic) during her Master’s program. After leaving Building Bridges, Kyna worked as a teaching assistant and support teacher before taking over as Victory's full-time counselor in September 2016.

At Victory, we believe that our students' social and emotional education and development is just as, if not more important, than their academic progress. To ensure each student is receiving the level of support they need to be successful, Kyna provides many different services across the building including individual counseling sessions, small group counseling, classroom social and emotional learning groups, college and career counseling, school wide programming and awareness events, transition support, peer mentorship, and crisis intervention. Kyna enjoys incorporating her love of art, books, and poetry into her work and recently graduated from a program in Expressive Arts Therapy. She is currently working toward licensure as a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT). Kyna lives in Portland with her husband, their daughter, and a little dog named Willie.
