Campaign 2013

Dream. Build. Thrive.

We created Victory Academy five years ago because we believed children with Autism deserved the opportunity to become their best selves. Five years of working with these beautiful kids has made our conviction even stronger that children with Autism can not only survive in a classroom setting, they can thrive.

The building of a permanent home will ensure that Victory Academy continues its mission of educating children with Autism for the long term."

– Tricia Hasbrook and Thea Schreiber,
Co-Founders, Victory Academy

Background

  • Founded in 2009, Oregon's only year-round accredited school for children with Autism
  • Integrated academic and therapeutic program, carefully designed to address each child's strengths and challenges
  • Loving and nurturing educational environment, based on both structure and playful engagement— preparing students to live independent lives as adults through a focus on academics and life skills
  • With 38 students enrolled for Fall 2013, Victory Academy is at capacity in the current space leased from a church in Wilsonville
  • Rate of Autism in the U.S. continues to climb (now 1 in 50), and number of applications to Victory is growing – approximately half of applicants will be turned away this year due to space constraints

New Facility

  • Victory Academy has purchased a four-acre horse farm near the town of Wilsonville in a peaceful, bucolic environment
  • Working with Opsis Architecture — a leading Oregon architecture firm — to build a new 18,000 sq. ft. school
  • School will meet LEED Platinum standards and will be made with 100% non-toxic materials (many children with Autism are sensitive to environmental toxins)
  • New school can accommodate up to 95 students and will allow Victory Academy to move from a K-8 to K-12 model
  • Planning to open in the Fall of 2015
